Performing MVPFAFF+

In 2010, Niuean Fakafafine activist and community organizer Phylesha Brown-Acton coined the term “MVPFAFF+” as a culturally specific umbrella acronym for the diverse gender and sexual identities across the Pacific.

Performing MVPFAFF+ is an upcoming research project that highlights how sexual and gender diverse Pasifika peoples imagine and enact expansive notions of community and belonging through the use of performance.

Beyond academia, Angela L. Robinson is an active participant in MVPFAFF+ communities. She is a founding member and board chair of Nuanua Collective.
